Course Overview
In this course we look at Advanced Polygon Modeling
Techniques, Conversion between different geometry types, Booleans,
Working with Curves and NURBS Surfaces, Subdiv Proxy Modeling. We’ll
take a look at some advanced 3D Sculpting techniques and deformations.
Tips and Tricks for creating Best looking models.
Student Outcomes
- Students will learn the techniques, tips and tricks employed in the 3D industry today, with focus on building and populating worlds, which is the way to put forth the broad ideas and techniques of 3d modeling
- Advanced Poly modeling – using transformations
- Performing Booleans and best practices in this tricky area
- Conversion between geometry types
- Working with Curves and NURBS Surfaces
- Subdiv Proxy Modeling
- 3D sculpting techniques – Maya at its best
- Students will be able to dive further down into 3D should they so choose, and into advanced texturing and modeling for games
Prerequisites
Some Maya experience is necessary. All sessions include
hands-on practice on Windows computers. This course is an introductory
course and not suited for advanced 3D art professionals. Some experience
with Windows computers required.
