Star Wars From Puppets To Pixels: Digital Characters In Episode II Documentary – and one more reason not to ever give up on what you love

My original vision for star wars was to have a lot of epic scale to it .. and at the same time have space ships and have creatures.. and all kind of fantastic things going on in it..

..Imagine a grown adult says this, and then probably repeats it in a boardroom because at some point George certainly did say this to a money guy, everyone laughs and then he goes on to make this vision and more and makes four billion dollars at the end.

There are probably homes in the suburbs where parents still tell their kids to stop dreaming.. but at the end of the day if you didn’t get enough of dreaming as a kid – you should know it is a great way to do adulting too.

I understood how to do that — engineering and all that stuff. So George said, “Yes, go do it.” And airplane scrap at that time, nobody wanted it. There were junkyards full of it, because they sold it by weight. I could buy almost an entire plane for 50 pounds…

In case the video doesn’t load for you – link to article & video here:

Feb. 20 — If you added up the Oscar wins of Meryl Streep (three), Jack Nicholson (three), and Tom Hanks (two), they would not equal the awards won by Dennis Muren. With nine golden statuettes, Muren has more Oscars than any other living person. Muren’s first major picture as a visual effects artist was a little film called “Star Wars.” Over the past forty years he has helped revolutionize the world of visual effects in movies like “Jurassic Park” and “E.T.” He talked to Bloomberg about his career and his very first Oscar win. (Corrects Oscar comparison.)
